As we teach our kids to be grateful for their bodies, we shift the focus from body image to body appreciation.

Celebration of ALL Bodies

Last summer Tyler Feder’s inclusive book ALL BODIES ARE COOL hit the market.

It was an instant success. Touching the hearts of readers with the truth of its simple message:

Bodies are cool.

ALL bodies are cool.

Not just certain colors or weights or ages or mobility levels.

“My body, your body, every different kind of body! All of them are good bodies! BODIES ARE COOL!

From stretch marks, unibrows, glasses, freckles…you name it. This book includes many details and a lot of diversity. It makes me happy. Variety should be normalized. Our bodies are all different. And those differences are cool.

Written in a catchy rhyme, the words will stick and stay with you. They will stay with children. My hope is that when little ones who are raised reading this book start to think negative thoughts about their body or others, the reaffirming phrase “bodies are cool” will be there to remind them of the truth.

I urge you to check this book out if you haven’t already! It deserves a spot on school and family bookshelves.
